AUTOMATION OF SEPARATION OF ILLUMINANCE LEVELS OF PHOTOREFRACTIVE LIGHT SCATTERING PATTERNS IN LITHIUM NIOBATE SINGLE CRYSTALS. METHOD CLARIFICATION FOR OBTAINING THE FRACTAL DIMENSION OF LEVELS

A program has been developed that automates the study of photoinduced light scattering (PILS) patterns. Among other things, the program optimizes the selection of PILS layers and their associated light levels. Using the program significantly improves the method for determining the fractal dimension of PILS layers. The program code is written in the Python programming environment and implemented in the Jupyter Notebook environment. The program was used to analyze PILS patterns in a nonlinear optical lithium niobate single crystal. It uses two directories: “in” for storing PILS images for on-line processing and “out” for saving there an Excel-compatible table of experimental data in CSV format and ready-made images of selected FIRS layers.
