CATIONIC AND ANIONIC SUBSTITUTIONS IN THE PROCESSOF HYDROTHERMAL SYNTHESIS OF HYDROXYAPATITE
A series of samples of barium-, strontium-silicate-, substituted hydroxyapatites (HAPS) with a concentration of a substituent ion of 1 mol was obtained by hydrothermal synthesis. X-ray phase analysis revealed that single-phase varieties of anion- and cation-substituted HAP are formed during synthesis. Substituted HAPS can be used to create bone implants and biocompatible materials due to their similarity to the composition of human bones. In the process of replacing HAPS with strontium and barium ions, the properties of HAPS may change, including the rate of resorption, strength, which is a promising task in medicine for creating controlled drug release systems.
