Inter‐Ion Mutual Repulsion Control for Nonvolatile Artificial Synapse (Adv. Funct. Mater. 11/2025)

Organic Electrochemical Transistors In article number 2412012, Joonhee Kang, Eunho Lee, and co-workers present an effective strategy for enhancing electrochemical doping and de-doping in organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) using different coulombic anions. They demonstrate that doped ions in the channel layer influence inter-ion interactions, enhancing non-volatile effects, synaptic performance, and improving the linearity and symmetry of the device through sequential ion de-doping. By controlling both the properties of organic semiconductors and ion interactions, this work opens new possibilities for OECTs applications in neuromorphic computing.
