Efeito da água de coco (Cocos nucifera L.) diluída no meio de cultivo para a sobrevivência e reprodução de Daphnia magna (Strauss)
Daphnia magna is a species that has been extensively studied and, in order to reproduce properly, it is necessary to provide it with adequate food. It is therefore important to know and manage the different food cultivation techniques that allow us to obtain food with a high nutritional content. This study investigated the effectiveness of using an alternative culture medium for Daphnia magna prepared with coconut water in one of its phases (green), which comes from the coconut palm, one of the most useful tree plants in the world. The results indicate optimum survival and birth of neonates with diluted coconut water, showing that natural resources can also be used to enrich the medium for cladoceran cultures, representing a low-cost medium.
