Development of Long-Range Wireless Energy Harvesting Circuit by Multistage Cockcroft-Walton Circuit
In recent years, there's been a surge of fascination with energy conservation and a swift evolution in the Internet of Things (IoT), shaping a smarter and more sustainable future. This has sparked a heightened interest in energy harvesting (EH) technology, which captures power from the environment and transforms it into a vital energy source. We focused on radio frequency range of 470~710MHz, which is the radio wave for digital terrestrial broadcasting. To obtain energy from this, we developed a novel rectifying circuit that performs RF (radio wireless frequency) -DC conversion and boosts the output DC voltage. This circuit can generate a 2.2V DC voltage without DC-DC converter to derive the sensors and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) system. Furthermore, we conducted experiments with the proposed circuit to power the sensors and the BLE data transmission module.
