INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF CONJUGATED EXOGENOUS ESTROGENS FOR THE TREATMENT OF MENOPAUSAL SYMPTOMS IN POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN AFTER HYSTERECTOMY

Goal. To study the effect of conjugated exogenous estrogens (CES) on menopausal symptoms in postmenopausal women who underwent hysterectomy. Materials and methods. The study was conducted from October 2022 to November 2024 at the Republican Clinical Hospital in Makhachkala. The study included postmenopausal women aged 50-78 years who had previously had a hysterectomy. Participants were randomly assigned to receive 0.625 mg of premarin or a placebo. Vasomotor symptoms, vaginal dryness, breast tenderness, and other complaints were assessed before and after treatment. Results: CEE therapy significantly reduced the frequency of hot flashes and night sweats compared with placebo (p <0.001). The incidence of breast tenderness was higher in the CEE group, but it remained a rare symptom. There were no age-related differences in response to treatment. Conclusions. CES are effective in reducing vasomotor symptoms in postmenopausal women after hysterectomy. Despite the increased risk of breast tenderness, therapy may be beneficial for women with severe vasomotor symptoms. An individual approach to therapy remains important.
