First person – Samruddhi Shembekar

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Samruddhi Shembekar is first author on ‘ Regulation of mitochondrial cristae organization by Myo19, Miro1 and Miro2, and metaxin 3’, published in JCS. Samruddhi is a graduate student in the lab of Dr Martin Bähler at Institute of Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology, Münster, Germany, investigating how mitochondria maintain their structural integrity while moving along actin and microtubule tracks.
