Photoinduced Copper‐Catalyzed Divergent Transformations of Amides via 1,5‐Hydrogen Atom Transfer

Abstract As comparatively unreactive carbonyl compounds, the selective functionalization of amides has long attracted sustained attention from chemists. In this work, we report a photoinduced copper‐catalyzed method for the divergent transformations of amides via aryl radical‐mediated intramolecular 1,5‐HAT strategy. This approach enables the conversion of amide substrates into three distinct products: C─H arylation, remote desaturation, and N ‐dealkylation. This protocol exhibits good functional group tolerance, facilitating the late stage modifications of a range of bioactive molecules. We believe this strategy offers a more cost‐effective and environmentally friendly approach for synthesizing oxindole and enamine compounds.
