Application of Desymmetrization: Synthesis of Atropisomeric Phosphite Esters via Thioether‐directed C−H Phosphorylation
Abstract Based on a desymmetrization strategy, a thioether‐directed C−H phosphorylation reaction of 1‐phenyl‐2‐alkylthionaphthalenes catalyzed by Pd (II) affords atropisomeric biaryl phosphite esters in moderate to good yields. The bifunctionalized by‐products were well inhibited. This newly developed methodology can be potentially applied to synthesize biaryl phosphite monomethyl esters containing alkylthio groups as bidentate anionic ligands.
