Looking into the Playfulness of the Children in Digital Play
In this study, children's digital play was looked closely in an attempt to interpret what the Playfulness of Digital Play looked like and what it meant. As a result of the study, the meaning of playfulness created by children in digital play included 'free-moving body', 'Connection to imagination without boundaries'', 'you and I, our connection', 'Pleasure and the resulting immersion', and 'Joke and humor'. The possibility of digital technology, which makes the impossible possible beyond limits of children's ability and environment, was unfolded in a variety of ways, imagining and realizing the impossible by moving the whole body freely. Through this process, children naturally understand interrelationships by adding interest and fun to digital play and become friends with anyone regardless of their peers or digital devices.BR/Early childhood teachers need to understand that digital and early childhood have diverse, dynamic, and cooperative relationships in which energy is exchanged and intertwined in a meaningful relationship rather than separating and controlling existing traditional and digital play. They also need to be interested in the Playfulness expressed in play and support it.
