Report on The Australian Historical Association Conference 2024, ‘Home Truths’, 1–4 July, Flinders University, City and Bedford Park Campuses, Kaurna Country

held on Kaurna Country at both the City and Bedford Park Campuses of Flinders University, was launched on 1 July from the Adelaide Festival Centre.One of the 'home truths' persistent throughout the conference was the enduring need for, and work by, historians in the contemporary world.Professor Frank Bongiorno delivered the outgoing Australian Historical Association (AHA) Presidential Lecture, asking a room packed with historians 'what is history for?', to reflect on the ongoing utility, necessity and value of historical research in today's society.
