This study examines the effects of the social skills therapeutic program implemented by the Integral Care Center for Disability (CAID) in the Dominican Republic, focusing on the social reintegration of children aged 0 to 10 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research addresses the need to evaluate inclusive strategies targeting vulnerable populations. Using a qualitative methodology based on observations, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires, data were collected from 60 children with ASD, their families, six therapists, one program director, and one coordinator. The results show significant improvements in children’s social skills, greater family involvement, and positive evaluations of the program by therapists. However, challenges were identified related to the need for additional resources to be able to meet new requests. This work highlights the importance of strengthening inclusive interventions, emphasizing their impact on social development and the integration of the most vulnerable populations in the Dominican context. Keywords: Social skills, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), inclusive interventions, family inclusion, and social reintegration.
