METHOD OF CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF THE MASS OF THE PUMPED PRODUCT WHEN CHANGING THE THERMOBARIC CONDITIONS

In order to reduce financial and resource losses of transportation companies, as well as to reduce environmental pollution, it is necessary to carry out continuous monitoring of pipelines for timely detection of leaks and unauthorized taps.Today, there are several methods of leak detection, each of which has a number of advantages and disadvantages. The balance method is widely known and most widely used, but it has a number of disadvantages that affect the accuracy, speed and quality of detection of the loss of the pumped product through the pipeline as a result of leakage or unauthorized tap.The paper considers a method for continuous monitoring of the masses of the pumped product between the sections of a completely filled horizontal pipeline without deposits during baric and thermal expansion, based on the balance method of leak detection. This article proposes to take into account the distribution of the main parameters of the pumped product, such as density, pressure and temperature, taking into account all the necessary calculated, rather than standard, values of the coefficients. Knowing the distribution for each section, it is possible to determine the difference in mass balance, and, consequently, to conclude about the presence of a leak or unauthorized tapping, as well as to determine its coordinate.Based on the proposed methodology, numerical modeling was carried out, the distributions of density, pressure and temperature were calculated, the difference in mass between the sections of the pipeline in a section of various lengths was calculated, the optimal lengths of conditional pipeline segments for specific cases were determined, and the main dependencies were derived. The final part lists the fundamental differences from previously published scientific works, presents the main conclusions on the proposed methodology, as well as the prospects for its development. The chosen topic is relevant today and promising for future research work, since this work considers only one of many factors affecting the difference in mass balance of the pumped product between sections.
