MODELING THE INFLUENCE OF DEFECTS ON PIPELINE HEAT INSULATION PROPERTIES

The article examines the effect of various defects in the thermal insulation of an underground pipeline on the thermal insulation properties of the material, depending on the geometry, size and location of the defect in thickness and when filling the defect with water using the ANSYS software package. The relevance of the study is due to the need to increase the reliability of both newly laid and operated underground pipelines with thermal insulation laid in permafrost soils. As a result of the study, it was established that the decrease in the thermal conductivity of the thermal insulation layer of the pipeline directly depends on the size of the defect. Defects of significant size filled with water significantly reduce the heat-protective properties of thermal insulation.
