The 20th century has changed the people’s thinking in the area of their cognitive abilities. The Internet has become an unlimited data base that may be used at any time. What is more, the difference between the sender and the receiver of the network’s sources has become blurred. There occur some new theories of the mind concerning the changes in ways of thinking (developing especially among the youngest generations) that have been generated by the digital reality. The questions about the educational dimension of the new media, the lost capacities of understanding the culture in its traditional sense and the symbolic content included in it, nowadays seem to be an expression of concern for ‘the lost paradise’. In the face of dynamically changing digital eras the education will be forced to change its habits of action.
