New Proposed Multivendor Configuration Generation Tool according to the Standard IEC 61850 for Electric Substations

The Itaipu Technology Park (PTI-Py) has developed a tool for generic and multi-vendor configuration of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) under the IEC 61850 standard regulations, called DiGTEM, as a support tool for analysis and definition of configuration parameters for multiple purposes in power electric substations. DiGTEM stands out for its ability to extract information, break down functions, and map devices. It can also collect essential data from the IEDs present in the substation, through access to network traffic or by importing files of from the Substation Configuration Description Language (SCL) manually. The proposed tool can also transfer SCL files to the different IEDs to ensure interoperability with the IEC 61850 standard, differentiating it from other tools by adapting to the specificities of each Intelligent Electronic Device (IED), regardless of the manufacturer or model. For a preliminary validation of DiGTEM's performance, functionalities, and tests were conducted and compared with others Generic IED Configuration tool.

For a preliminary validation of DiGTEM's performance, functionalities, and tests were conducted and compared with others Generic IED Configuration tool.
