Dynamic Complex Power Phase Angle Model and Control of Grid-Forming Inverter
Grid-forming inverter is an effective control technique to address stability issues of high penetration renewable energy power system. The conventional active and reactive power control schemes of grid-forming inverter are designed separately in form of a dual-input-dual-output system. The dual-input-dual-output system has two inputs which are the phase and amplitude variations. In this work-in-progress paper, a dynamic complex-power-phase-angle (CPPA) model is firstly established to transfer the system to a single-input-single-output system for grid-forming inverter. So that the power control of the grid-forming inverter can be designed by a single-input-single-output system. Then a swing equation based complex power controller is designed. The proposed model and control are verified by the simulation.
