Direct Speed Predictive Control of an Induction Motor

To address the state-of-the-art challenges of variable-speed drives, this paper introduces Direct Speed Predictive Control (DSPC) for Induction Motor (IM) drive systems. DSPC eliminates cascaded control structures and enhances control performance by directly managing speed without intermediary loops. This approach promises improved dynamic response, operational efficiency, and adaptability across industrial applications, making a significant advancement on IM control technology. The proposed control method was validated via simulation results across different operational scenarios such as varying loads, speed fluctuations, dynamic changes, and parameter inaccuracies to assess its effectiveness. The outcomes affirm its reliable control performance.
