A Full Speed Domain Model Predictive Control Strategy Based on Variable Weight Factors for BLDCM

In systems driven by three-phase inverters, traditional Model Predictive Torque Control (MPTC) strategies for Brushless DC Motors (BLDCM) were limited by the capacity of the inverters and the structure of the motors, preventing high-speed operation in the constant torque region. By making the expansion of the motor's speed range a control objective for BLDCM MPTC, a predictive model was derived. Stator currents and switching frequencies were also restructured as constraints in the value function. To address the issue of varying switching frequencies following speed adjustment, a feedback control for the switching frequency was incorporated into the predictive module. Variables obtained from this feedback were added as dynamic weighting factors to the value function, allowing for effective control of the switching frequency across all speed ranges. Simulation results demonstrated that the proposed control strategy successfully expanded the motor's speed range and met the requirements for low-loss control.
