Research progress of polylactic acid and its composites for 3D printing

3D printing technology has developed rapidly in recent years and has been widely used in more and more fields. Because of its simple operation method, fast manufacturing speed, accurate and diverse configuration, 3D printing technology gradually applies to all walks of life. As an excellent biocompatible and biodegradable material, polylactic acid (PLA) has become one of the most commonly used raw materials for 3D printing technology because of its good molding temperature and molding process. With the improvement of people's living standards, the requirements for 3D printing materials are also increasing, which makes the new composite materials based on polylactic acid develop more and more rapidly in recent years. The new composite material formed by compounding polylactic acid with other materials can make up for the shortcomings of polylactic acid such as low hardness and poor electrical conductivity. Through fused deposition modeling (FDM), it can meet people's different needs in different fields. The application field of 3D printing is expanding, and the composite material with polylactic acid as the main body has good development prospects.
