The Theme of the “Singing Heart” in the Philosophy of I.A. Ilyin

In the article the author attempts to transcribe I.A. Ilyin’s thesis about the “Russian idea” as the idea of the heart. This cordiocentric position is stated and disclosed in the book “The Singing Heart” and verifi ed in a number of literary and critical texts, as well as in personal correspondence. There exists the idea of spiritual act architectonics: from contemplative and conscientious love – through conscientious will and insensitive imagination – to spiritual love and contemplative thinking. Thus, it is shown that the heart is the main source of Russian life, faith and culture.
