The Influence of Personal Characteristics of Chinese Entrepreneurs on Entrepreneurial Performance - Focusing on the Mediating Role of Entrepreneurial Spirit -
This study investigates how the personal characteristics of entrepreneurs influence entrepreneurial performance through the mediating role of entrepreneurial spirit. The research categorizes these characteristics into self-esteem, self-efficacy, prior experience, and perceived risk, examining their effects on entrepreneurial spirit and subsequent performance. The study draws on survey data collected from 308 entrepreneurs across China, analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results reveal that self-efficacy and prior experience positively impact entrepreneurial spirit, while perceived risk has a negative effect. Entrepreneurial spirit, in turn, significantly enhances perceived entrepreneurial performance. These findings underscore the importance of developing self-efficacy and leveraging prior experience to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit, thereby improving entrepreneurial outcomes. The study highlights the necessity of government support in fostering entrepreneurship through targeted policies, emphasizing the role of entrepreneurial education and risk mitigation strategies to drive sustainable growth. Future research should explore additional variables and contextual factors influencing entrepreneurial performance to provide deeper insights.
