produces several notes with financial repercussions that, in addition to burdening the treasury, also cause inconvenience due to non-compliance with the deadline set for the execution of the work. As a result, the categorization of this burden for the public administration generates additional costs arising from a generally deficient management of processes, with these factors being interrelated by various agents involved in the course of the process, from suppliers to government authorities, with an urgent need to overcome these difficulties for a harmonious execution in public works while the existence of additives in execution contracts presupposes misuse of financial resources from the treasury. That said, the research problem is to discuss the importance of efficient process management in public works. The objectives were to understand, describe and analyze the importance of strategic decision in process management. For this, the study was based on bibliographical research of a documentary type, featuring an exploratory and explanatory study of a qualitative and quantitative nature, being therefore framed as basic research because it produces new knowledge in a generic way, aimed at the development of the harvest in question.
