Role of Open Source Intelligence Methods in Cybersecurity
Data files, images, and videos available online are extensive repositories of information about the individual who uploaded them. These files contain physical appearance, conduct, opinions, and material wealth information. Examining these files aids in confirming the precision of the information and verifying the generation technique, for example, via social media. Public databases offer data on firms, corporations, and public individuals, facilitating access to government excursions, scientific publications, and company reputations. These resources facilitate comprehension of potential cooperation and the identification of potential partners. Open-source intelligence refers to techniques and resources used to gather information from publicly accessible sources. This paper will provide a current and comprehensive summary of research connected with open-source techniques. We will focus on the tools and techniques driving progress in the cybersecurity sector. Also, we will emphasize our findings for OSINT techniques and the recently developed tools that employ these techniques.
