Optical Twist Sensor Based on Femtosecond Laser Inscribed In-Fiber Micro-Structure

We present an optical twist sensor that is based on an in-fiber micro-structure inscribed by a femtosecond laser. This sensor is compact, highly sensitive, and capable of discriminating the direction of twist.
