Photon and UHF PD Property of Wire Metal Particles in SF6
Wire Metal particle is a typical defect with serious harm in Gas insulated switchgear (GIS). In this paper, phase-resolved photon signals of an adhered aluminum wire at AC are measured using a model basin insulation spacer. PD signals are also measured simultaneously using a UHF PD sensor. The findings reveal that photon counting is capable of detecting the optical signals preceding PD caused by metal particles, and the PRPCbased features effectively illuminate the characteristics of photon responses elicited by such defects. Collectively, this research introduces a potential approach to the detection of wire metal particles in GIS.
