Performance Enhancement of Antenna Using Automated, Multi-Size Pixelated Design
This paper presents an in-house developed tool to optimize antenna designs with limited human involvement. While most work focused on the flexibility to interface with different optimization methods, this work enhances modelling experience, it provides complete modelling packages from separate shapes to combined shapes such as probe feeds with different pads and layers. Together with the flexible optimization flow and data collection function, the final goal to achieve automated antenna design becomes more feasible. The tool has been used to extend the bandwidth of a well-known UWB antenna. The measurement shows an increment of more than 10% has been successfully achieved with the same material and PCB size.
