GEOLOGİCAL-LİTHOLOGİCAL-TECTONİC-GEOPHYSİCAL CHARACTERİSTİCS AND OİL AND GAS POTENTİAL OF THE CHEYİLAKHTARMA-NARDARANAKHTARMA FOLD LİNE OF THE SHAMAKHİ-GOBUSTAN OİL-GAS-BEARİNG REGİON

The research work carried out in the article covers the Nardaranakhtarma, Suleymanakhtarma, Cheyilakhtarma, Cheyildag structures. Based on the comparative analysis of the obtained seismic materials with the data of geophysical surveys of wells and data from surface outcrops, it was determined that the geological structure of the study area is represented by sediments of stratigraphic units from Maykop to Pontic sediments. In the arch part of the Nardaranakhtarma, Suleymanakhtarma structures, Maykop sediments are exposed to the surface of the earth. According to the seismic data, the arch parts of the structures are complicated by mud volcanoes. The structure of the Nardaranakhtarma structure (eastern periclinal), Suleymanakhtarma, Cheyilakhtarma structure (western periclinal) and the northern limb of the Cheyildag structure was studied, and the Pontic wedge zone was noted in the northern limb of the Nardaranakhtarma structure. The oil and gas prospects of the field are mainly related to the Maykop sediments, and partly to the Chokrak sediments. In the Nardaranakhtarma, Cheyilakhtarma and Cheyildag areas, natural oil outcrops are mainly found in mud volcanoes, griffons and salses located in the arch parts of the folds. In addition, oil-gas sand and silt layers have been encountered in a number of structural mapping and exploration wells drilled in these areas. We note that in the direction from the northwest (Cheyilakhtarma) to the southeast, the clay content in the rocks that make up this suite constantly decreases and the content of silty sandy sediments increases. Thus, in the southern belt of Gobustan, along the Alat ridge and in the southeastern part of the region, silty-sandy fractions are widely developed in the deposits of the Productive series. To the southwest, in the Cheyildagh area, a relative increase in the content of aleurite (36.5%) and sand (11.0%) fractions and a decrease in the content of clayey (25.84%) fractions is observed. İn the Nardaranakhtarma area the content of aleurite, sand and clay fractions is consist in a range of 22.0-49.5%, 20.0-50.0%, and 21.7-40.5% respectively. Keywords: structures, depression, deposits, sand and clay content, research area, Productive series, Maykop.
