Business, finance, energy strategy, and sustainability integration: A holistic approach to corporate responsibility in the green era
Credit is being developed at a pivotal point in environmental sustainability to promote the dual carbon goal, lower emissions, and ease the shift from high-carbon to low-carbon energy sources. This study looks into the relationship between energy savings and environmentally friendly credit using spatial Durbin models and SE-SBM. Empirical techniques are applied, and using provincial panel data from China from 2007 to 2022, the results show that environmentally sustainable credit significantly increases energy efficiency and has benefits beyond local bounds. Green finance policies may enhance energy economies in the targeted regions and adjacent areas. In navigating the benefits and challenges of the green era, this method emphasizes the interdependence of financial decision-making, energy strategy, and environmental objectives with company operations. By integrating these components, businesses can embrace a comprehensive outlook that harmonizes their financial goals with ecological responsibility. This all-encompassing strategy acknowledges businesses' critical role in promoting sustainable behaviors, utilizing financial tools, and developing energy plans that put long-term sustainability first. It emphasizes proactive participation in sustainable projects that positively impact the environment and society, recognizing that corporate responsibility goes beyond simple regulatory compliance. The analysis shows that China's central, eastern, and western areas have very different effects on how green credits improve energy efficiency in residential buildings. Encouraging green innovation is the primary way green credits promote energy efficiency. These observations provide policymakers with important direction for approving and implementing green credit programs that support energy-efficient building techniques. • This study looks into the relationship between energy savings and environmentally friendly credit. • Adopting green finance policies may result in enhanced energy economies in the targeted regions and adjacent areas. • The analysis shows that China's central, eastern, and western areas have very different effects on how green credits improve energy efficiency in residential buildings. • These observations provide policymakers with important direction for approving and implementing green credit programs that support energy-efficient building techniques.
