Innovations in Maternity Nursing Care: Integrating Technology to Improve Prenatal and Postnatal Health
This article explores the integration of technological innovations in maternity nursing care to enhance prenatal and postnatal health outcomes. With the advancement of digital health technologies, such as telehealth, mobile health applications, wearable devices, and data analytics, there is a growing potential to improve maternal care by providing real-time monitoring, personalized care, and better management of pregnancy-related complications. This study conducts a comprehensive literature review to analyze the impact of these technologies on prenatal and postnatal care practices. The findings indicate that digital health innovations significantly improve maternal engagement, facilitate timely interventions, and support postpartum recovery, leading to enhanced maternal and neonatal health outcomes. However, challenges such as limited access to digital tools, inadequate infrastructure, and lack of digital literacy, particularly in low-resource settings, pose significant barriers to the effective implementation of these technologies. The study emphasizes the need for context-specific strategies, comprehensive training for healthcare providers, and continuous evaluation of technological applications to maximize their benefits. By addressing these challenges and leveraging the potential of digital health innovations, healthcare systems can significantly improve maternity care and promote better health outcomes for mothers and infants.
