ANÁLISE DO TRANSPORTE PÚBLICO URBANO DA CIDADE DE ARAXÁ DO PONTO DE VISTA DOS DISCENTES DE UMA INSTITUIÇÃO DE ENSINO
Cities continue to expand both in terms of territorial extension and number of inhabitants. This growth brings challenges, including increased demand for transportation. In this way, this study aims to contribute to effective planning of the transport system by understanding demand, especially in the context of study-motivated trips. These trips, concentrated during peak hours, have a significant impact on transport demand. The main objective is to apply origin-destination research to a school located in Araxá-MG, to understand students' travel patterns and propose measures to improve the fluidity of traffic in the region. The work includes the preparation of a questionnaire designed to collect data on origins, destinations, daily and weekly number of trips, as well as the means of transport used by students. The analysis of this data makes it possible to identify peak times, distribute trips by zone and estimate the capacity of the public bus system. At the end, it is possible to suggest effective measures to optimize the city's transport system, considering routes, schedules and supply capacity.
