Cumulative Personal Radiation Exposure for a Single Pulmonary Proceduralist Over 1 Year
Ionizing radiation-guided pulmonary procedures initially used fluoroscopy (FL) for transbronchial lung biopsy, then expanded to therapeutic and pleural procedures.1-3 Developments in advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy introduced 3-dimensional imaging modalities.4 Reporting of radiation dose or exposure has focused on patient radiation dose with less attention to proceduralist exposure.5 This study aims to detail the cumulative personal radiation exposure for a single pulmonary proceduralist over 1 year, including the quantity and types of procedures performed.
