The application of digitalization and decentralization in modern power systems
The increasing integration of renewable energy sources into power systems has highlighted the limitations of traditional, centralized grids. Digitalization and decentralization offer transformative solutions for optimizing power systems to meet modern energy demands. This paper examines the role of digitalization and decentralization in creating more resilient, efficient, and sustainable power systems. Through interviews with experts in the energy sector, we explore how technologies such as IoT, blockchain, and AI are being applied to modern power grids. We also analyze the barriers and opportunities for integrating decentralized structures such as microgrids. The findings underscore the potential of digitalization and decentralization to drive the future of energy, but challenges like regulatory constraints and technical complexities remain significant.
