The Relationship between Therapeutic Communication and Patient Satisfaction at the Community Health Center

Therapeutic communication plays a crucial role in establishing effective relationships between healthcare providers and patients, which in turn can affect patient satisfaction with healthcare services. This study aims to examine the relationship between therapeutic communication skills and patient satisfaction at community health centers (Puskesmas). The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 200 patients as the sample. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring therapeutic communication skills and patient satisfaction. The results showed a significant positive relationship between therapeutic communication skills and patient satisfaction (r = 0.65, p < 0.01). Empathy and active listening were found to have the greatest impact on patient satisfaction. In conclusion, good therapeutic communication skills contribute to improved patient satisfaction. It is recommended that healthcare providers at Puskesmas improve their therapeutic communication skills through training focusing on empathy, active listening, and clear information delivery.
