Bacterial Leaf Blight Detection using Segmentation, Colour Extraction and Lesion Detection Technique

For a long time, agriculture has relied on contemporary technology to meet the needs of the world's 7 billion people. However, workers in the agricultural sector face various dangers that affect human society's food security, such as climate change, animal grazing, plant diseases and other hazards that are well known. Plant disease is one of the most serious problems since it not only causes massive waste of plants for human consumption, but it also has a significant impact on human society's health and the lives of farmers whose primary source of income is the production of healthy crops. One of the most severe dangers to agriculture is disease transmission from disease to healthy plants. If infections are not diagnosed early, it can spread and infect the entire farm. Plant disease detection using image processing can help and assist the farmer in the early detection of sick plants. This research will implement image segmentation, colour extraction and lesion detection technique to detect the existence of Bacteria Leaf Blight (BLB) on paddy leaf. From the analysis done, it is found that the system can accurately detect the existence of BLB near to 82.9%.
