Early Detection of Cancerous Cells Using One-Dimensional Superconductor Photonic Crystal Biosensor

This study examines and evaluates a biosensor design based on the refractive index (RI) method using a one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystal (PC) with a superconductor structure. The superconductor under consideration in this study is YaBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 . The bilayer stack is made by etching the superconductor material. A bio-analyte layer, which serves as the sample being tested, is introduced to the superconductor structure as a middle cavity layer. Carefully adjusting the structural parameters maximizes the overall sensor efficiency. The performance results show that the suggested design achieved a high [Formula: see text]-factor of 8837 and an RI sensitivity of 90 nm/RIU with a reflection of 86.59%. The proposed sensing device has potential applications in the medical domain for biosensing.
