Reading and writing the world with mathematics in the initial training of mathematics teachers
Rethinking initial teacher training considering the current dilemmas and needs of Education is a great challenge. Committed to this task, the objective of the research presented in this article was to analyze aspects that contribute to the critical and reflective training of future teachers in an investigative activity on Reading and Writing the World with Mathematics. This work was developed in a subject called Geometry for Basic Education of a Mathematics Degree course, in which a mapping of the quality of life in traffic in different neighborhoods of the city of Rio de Janeiro/RJ was proposed. After analyzing the activity developed, we highlight that there are four main formative aspects of the practice of Reading and Writing the World with Mathematics that must be considered in the degree: unpredictability, dialogue, dynamicity and transferability.
