Topology Optimization for UAV Swarm Communication With Jamming
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been demonstrated immense potentials to enhance communication systems tailored to the unique characteristics by optimizing the placement and mobility. However, most of the studies focus on UAV-enabled wireless communications such as aerial base stations and relays. The UAV swarm communication is also an important scenario but challenging due to the limited spectrum resources and serious interference among UAV swarms. This letter proposes a topology optimization method for UAV swarm communication, where each UAV transmits data to a collection center directly or via other UAVs while considering malicious jamming. The proposed method jointly designs the information transmission path of all UAVs and transmission power to simultaneously maximize the minimum communication network capacity among all UAVs. A power control algorithm is also proposed to derive the network capacity under a given information transmission path. Simulation results indicate that the proposed topology optimization method increases network capacity compared with other benchmark algorithms.
