La función social de la propiedad rural como vía para el desarrollo

When someone says that there is a crisis in Mexican agriculture, it is because it has to do with the fact that the rural population lives mostly in poverty and that levels of well-being are minimal. In turn, this situation means that a large sector of the rural population does not have land on which to cultivate and that many of those who have it are pressured to abandon it to seek other means of livelihood, leaving large areas idle. Putting an end to this situation has a lot to do with returning to a scheme of social function of social property as before the rural reform of 1992 that made it disappear. The return to the social function should legally oblige the holders of plots to make them productive, of course with important support, in addition, for those who do not have land, generate a scheme for the new distribution of the surfaces that will no longer be cultivated by those who They prefer other dedication options. By virtue of our historical trajectory, this is the most viable path for rural development.
