DIAGNÓSTICO DA FRAGMENTAÇÃO DE FORMAÇÕES FLORESTAIS E SAVÂNICAS NA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO PARACATU
The Paracatu River Basin, located in the Cerrado Biome, has been suffering since the 1970s from intense land use conversion processes, modifying the landscape through intense deforestation. The aim of this article was to analyze the spatio-temporal changes in land use over a 30-year period and the impacts of fragmentation of Cerrado vegetation in the Paracatu River Basin, in the state of Minas Gerais. To carry out this work, MapBiomas data from 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2020 was used. Based on this data, the main categories of land use were classified into the following classes: Forest Formation, Savannah Formation, Wetland and Swamp Area, Grassland Formation, Rock Outcrop, Pasture, Agriculture, Mosaic of Uses (pasture and agriculture), Forestry, Mining, Urban Area, Other Unvegetated Areas and Rivers and Lakes. Thus, through the vector file data, it was possible to ascertain the evolution of land cover dynamics over the period analyzed. The results of the research showed that there was a reduction in the Savannah Formation class over the years, and an increase in the Agriculture, Forestry and Mining classes.
