Dialogical unities as a way of representing logical inference in dialogic speech (based on the English language)
The aim of the study is to identify the structural and semantic features of communicative units of English dialogic speech that serve as a means of linguistic expression of logical inference. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time, a logical and grammatical analysis of dialogic unities is carried out on the material of the English language from the point of view of their ability to represent logical inference, which allows us to clarify the boundaries of dialogic unities in written speech. As a result of the analysis, it was established that certain types of dialogic unities, between the parts of which semantic cause-and-effect relations are traced, serve as a means of expressing logical inference in the form of enthymemes. Structural and semantic features of the studied syntactic constructions were described. Linguistic means that serve as markers of logical syllogisms were defined. It was proved that in written speech, there is cooperation of dialogic and author’s speech within the framework of one dialogic unity.
