A Qualitative Study of Improving Life Independence Functions and Reducing Caregiver Burden in Children with Physical Disabilities through Movement Therapy (Dohsa-hou).
In Cambodia, there is a pressing need to disseminate specialized therapeutic techniques for children with disabilities. Dohsa-hou, a Japanese movement therapy technique known for its therapeutic effects on persons with disabilities, has been practiced there for years. This study focused on Dohsa-hou's impact on children with physical disabilities in Cambodia, particularly their daily life independence, and assessed caregivers' perspectives. It also investigated how Dohsa-hou reduces caregiving burdens by enhancing children's functional independence. The research utilized the KJ method and chi-square tests to highlight improvements in children's independence and significant reduction in caregiving burdens.
