Guerre descritte della felice memoria del signor conte Giovanni Marco Isolano governatore et colonello in Alba Reale per sua Maesta Cesarea

The Romanian translation of this text appeared in Volume III of the series Călători străini despre Țările Române. Supliment III, Bucharest, Academy Publishing House, 2023, pp. 79–124. Due to reasons beyond the control of the editorial team that compiled the volume, the original text (which should have been included in an appendix) was not included in the published version. Since this is a testimony of a participant in the “Long War”, which has only been published previously in a Hungarian translation by Kálmán Benda and in the aforementioned Romanian translation, we considered that publishing the original version is of great interest. To avoid unnecessarily burdening the present issue of the Revista Istorică, we preferred not to repeat the details about the life and work of the nobleman from Bologna, which can be found in the introductory note (pp. 45–51) in the above-mentioned volume.
