Optimized Evaluation Methods and Automatic Calibration Equipment for Primary Display
In order to improve existing calibration approaches for the core parameters of primary display, optimized evaluation methods as well as automatic calibration equipment were proposed in this paper. Uniformly spaced sampling method was adopted to get more accurate and reliable results for luminance uniformity and display chromaticity measurement. And luminance distribution of primary display was intuitively presented in the form of contour map to present the luminance uniformity more visually. To realize the detection of viewing angle, a quantitative method was also implemented through the cooperation of software and hardware. Therefore, the equipment could obviously achieve automatic calibration with high efficiency. Experimental results from 4 different primary displays showed clear differences between nominal and measured values of their core parameters, which indicated the necessity to perform regular calibration on primary display. The main components of the calibration equipment could be traced to Chinese National Primary Standards, thereby ensuring accuracy and reliability of measurement results.
