Requirements of Realistic Simulators for CPU Scheduling Algorithms

The CPU scheduler, primarily responsible for scheduling algorithms, is a crucial component of multitasking operating systems. Many simulation systems have been developed to help study and analyze scheduling algorithms. However, the necessary requirements for this type of simulator have not been defined clearly. Our research aims to determine these requirements. Moreover, we developed a simulator system called SBKsim that fulfills most of the proposed requirements.

Abstract

The CPU scheduler, primarily responsible for scheduling algorithms, is a crucial component of multitasking operating systems. Many simulation systems have been developed to help study and analyze scheduling algorithms. However, the necessary requirements for this type of simulator have not been defined clearly. Our research aims to determine these requirements. Moreover, we developed a simulator system called SBKsim that fulfills most of the proposed requirements.
