Exploring Color-Based Emotional Communication in Robots: A Vietnamese Study on Primary Dyads

Efficient expression of emotions is crucial for robots to effectively fulfill various daily tasks, especially when serving as mental companions in mental healthcare settings. However, previous methods for robot emotion expression often involve complex robot designs, making them expensive and impractical for widespread real-world use. Furthermore, the use of color-based methods has not been thoroughly explored within the Vietnamese cultural context. To address these challenges, this study investigates the applications of simple emotion expression models using colors and gradients in the Vietnamese population. Experimental findings demonstrate the effectiveness of these models in conveying extended emotional states and dyads, high-lighting their practical potential within the Vietnamese mental healthcare sector.
