Augmenting the Sensitivity of an SPR Biosensor for Detecting Urine Glucose by Utilizing BaTiO3 and BlueP/WSe2
Using the transfer matrix method (TMM), a hybrid SPR-based biosensor was examined to detect glucose concentration in urine. The Kretschmann configuration with a BK7 glass prism, Ag layer, BaTiO3 dielectric layer, and a 2D BlueP/WSe2 layer was utilized to design the proposed biosensor. The optimized thickness of Ag, BaTiO3, and the monolayer of BlueP/WSe2 were investigated as 52 nm, 11 nm, and 0.34 nm respectively. The layers thickness affects the sensor's performance. In order to achieve the lowest reflectance and maximum sensitivity, the layer's thickness was tuned. The highest sensitivity of 425 deg/RIU, detection accuracy of 0.177305 deg-1, FWHM of 5.64 deg, and quality factor of 75.35 RIU-1 were obtained at a glucose concentration of 10 g/dL.
