Report on the SIGIR 2024 Session on Women in IR (WIR)

The SIGIR 2024 Women in IR event, organized by SIGIR WIR, 1 took place on July 15 in Washington DC, USA and was attended by about 100 participants. The SIGIR WIR, as always, invited all SIGIR participants regardless of gender identity. This year's theme was "Community Introduction & Interaction" and was planned for old-timers and newcomers to introduce themselves and share their research focus, concerns, questions, or success stories that they believed to be relevant, or seek feedback from the community.
