El Consejo del Poder Judicial: ¿De la crisis institucional a la reforma?
The General Council of the Judiciary is the governing body of judges, created to guarantee judicial independence and self-government of the Judiciary. The Spanish constituent gave its main functions the carrying out of appointmens, promotions, inspection and disciplinary regime in the judicial career. Without forgetting the issues that we will analyze during this study, we do not ignore that the central issue that is addressed is that related to the independence of the governing body of the judges and the blockage to which it is subjected, as well as other key aspects such as the false debate of the democratic legitimacy of the CGPJ, the two models of election of the body or the effects of the implementation of a legal regime to the CGPJ when it is in office. Finally, propose a solution to the situation of the body's blockage.
