Feasibility of nuclear monitoring for pyro-process using radiation measurement

The validity on the application of nuclear material monitoring using specific emitted radiation was performed in the pyro-process. For application to the process monitoring, the characteristics of each process and the measurable nuclei were analyzed. The main emitted radiation was determined, and the relationship and linearity with the measurement signal were analyzed and evaluated for changes in the nuclear material content and movement. The measurement signal for changes in the 5,10,15,20 % nuclear material content showed linearity in the reduction process, and in the electro refining process, it was possible to detect changes in nuclear material movement (10, 30 %, 50, 70, 90 %) according to time elapse. In the electro winning process, the recovered nuclear material was properly found at the cathode over time. From the simulation, monitoring the content change for plutonium will be possible, and the application of process monitoring through radiation measurement will contribute to the efficiency of nuclear material monitoring and process transparency.
